Over the course of three sessions in January, Rackets Cubed successfully ran its first ever series of online CPD events for school staff, coaches and other partners.
The sessions involved key speakers on STEM learning, multi-sports and an inspirational talk delivered by ex-British number 1 tennis player, and one of our trustees, Anne Keothavong. With over forty attendees across the three events, we were thrilled to see so many people attend and benefit from the event.
Participants were shown how a Rackets Cubed Programme operates, the benefits it could bring to their school or local area and the impact we are already having on so many children’s lives across the UK. Demonstrations of practical, fun and engaging STEM games were outlined by Rackets Cubed member Dan Trump, a former primary school maths coordinator. During the session, structured multi-sport activities for teachers to use in their PE teaching was also explained and outlined by experienced tennis coach Metro Mustafa.
Feedback regarding the event was positive with one teacher stating they valued ‘The range of activities shared,’ and commented on how “new ideas are always good”.
