FOUNDER & CHAIR OF TRUSTEES

Michael is an Investor in selected Technology / Healthcare and Philanthropic Enterprises. Passionate, if not talented, squash and tennis player.

Trustee on the Professional Squash Association Foundation.

MBA from INSEAD and MA in Engineering Science from Oxford University.

Geoff Newton

PRESIDENT

Previously Senior Executive for Marks & Spencer and P&O: Director of Olympic Opportunity for 2012 Olympic/Paralympic Games: CEO of the Tennis Foundation.

Geoff focussed on opening up the sport for young people, the disabled and the disadvantaged.

A strong advocate of Sport for Development: number of Non Exec roles, inc Vice Chair of the British Paralympic Association, and President of Yorkshire Tennis.

Previously a Director of the All England Club and now Vice President.

Nikki Rossner

CEO

Nikki is passionate about working and supporting young people and joined Rackets Cubed early on to help develop the core programme and build school connections.

Her background includes nearly 20 years in state secondary education and 15 years in the charity sector.

During the Pandemic Nikki developed and led the Community Box programme which continues to support 1000 families per week in 19 hubs across the country.

Nikki is happiest outside and has been known to hit a tennis ball in the occasional match.

Johanna Åfors

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Johanna oversees the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the charity.

PROGRAMME DIRECTOR 

Carrie is an ex-professional squash player, with British and European titles under her belt. Based in Leeds, she has had over 10 year’s experience in coaching.

Carrie is also the founder and director of CAS Academy at Chapel Allerton Tennis & Squash Club.

Carrie’s passion for rackets sports and participation for all is what led her to become involved with Rackets Cubed.

As Programme director, Carrie is responsible for overseeing our programmes across the country.

Dan Trump

SCHOOLS PROGRAMME ASSISTANT

Dan is an ex-primary school teacher & maths coordinator. He assists in the management and running of our Core programmes.

Having been a teacher on one of our London programmes, Dan decided to leave teaching and join Rackets Cubed after seeing the incredible work that we do. Dan believes passionately in providing children with equal opportunities.

Dan enjoys playing tennis and squash, hiking, building LEGO and often spends his weekends supporting Fulham Football Club not far from our London office!

 

Carrie Cantle

Nat Price

HUB MANAGER

Nat is our Hub Manager. She manages and runs our social supermarket, The Roehampton Community Box, based at our London office.

She is passionate about fighting food poverty. She has many years of experience in managing and running food projects for the community and ran a food hub for Lambeth during lockdown. She also has experience of working as a head chef and kitchen manager, using food that would of gone to waste to feed the community.

Nat is also a trained youth worker/mentor and has worked for many years in Roehampton.

Nat enjoys, cooking up new vegan meals, Being by the sea, black and white film photography, boxing training and supporting her not so local women’s and men’s football team-Clapton FC (I wont mention Arsenal too).

Vicky Evans

NORTH EAST

Vicky has over 20 years of coaching experience alongside a career in Sports Development, where her areas of expertise included funding, safeguarding and club development.

Vicky also acts as the North Region Women and Girls Ambassador for the LTA and has just been awarded 2022 LTA Regional Development Coach for the North.

Vicky loves racket sports and wanted to get involved in Rackets Cubed to offer all children the opportunity to play, enjoy and develop their skills in the sports on offer.

Jules Silvera

Jules Silvera

NORTH WEST

Jules is a Sport & Exercise Psychology MSc graduate and qualified squash coach with 6 years coaching experience. He is based in Manchester where he coaches at The Northern Tennis & Squash Club.

His passion for sport, talent development, and participation has led him to work with talented athletes in swimming, taekwondo, Rugby League and squash. He is currently based in Manchester where he works as Head of Squash at The Northern Lawn Tennis Club.

His belief in the positive influence sport can have on young people is what led him to take on the role of area programme manager at Rackets Cubed.

Becky has been involved in Primary Education for over twenty years. She loves teaching children of all ages and has experienced many roles across varying positions.

Her biggest love is spending time with her family and friends playing both Tennis and Padel. She loves to be active and believes this helps keep the mind body and soul happy and healthy.

Becky joined Rackets Cubed to support her passion in encouraging active children and to help provide opportunities for all.

Serena White

TRUSTEE

Serena, a member of the Roehampton club since 1995, is a keen tennis player and Simon, her husband, was Chairman of the tennis committee from 2010-2013.

After graduating from Exeter University in 1986 Serena worked in Australia, Thailand and Hong Kong before taking a position in the equities department at BZW in 1989, moving to CSFB in 1997 as Vice President in the equity division.

She has three sons who are all keen squash and tennis players.

She has led the school’s journey from Requiring Improvement to Good while honouring a commitment to build a sustainable model of school improvement for the children and community of Roehampton.

She advocates for the role that primary schools should play in early intervention.
