Lawrence Primary Students Compete in Their Own Tennis Tournament
Last month, students from Lawrence Primary School enjoyed an extra special Rackets Cubed afternoon, taking part in their very own tennis competition at Liverpool Tennis Centre.
For many of the children, it was their first time visiting a large tennis centre and playing proper matches. Being in a new and inspiring environment, with huge courts and top-class equipment, made the day feel like an experience in itself.
The students played doubles matches against their classmates, worked in pairs, kept score, and competed for a trophy at the end of the day. π While the winning pair went home with the trophy, every child left with valuable match experience, a boost in confidence, and a memorable experience outside of school.
π A huge thank you to Liverpool Tennis Centre and Lawrence Primary School for making this day possible.
Lawrence Primary runs a LITE programme, meaning most sessions take place on the school site due to limited access to larger facilities. As part of our approach, we aim to give these children the opportunity to visit a local host venue, like Liverpool Tennis Centre, at least once per term. This helps create an aspirational experience and allows them to access facilities they might not otherwise have the chance to enjoy.
The students loved itβand we loved watching them thrive! π
