Ciara Boulanger, a Year 12 student at Sevenoaks School, independently organised a graded squash tournament as part of her IB CAS programme — bringing students together to compete, raise money, and support Rackets Cubed’s work in disadvantaged communities.

A student takes the lead

When Ciara Boulanger sat down to plan her IB Creativity, Activity, Service project, she had a clear goal in mind: combine her love of squash with something that could make a real difference. What followed was a fully student-led graded tournament, planned and delivered from start to finish without adult oversight.

Ciara handled every detail herself — booking courts at Sevenoaks School, promoting the event to her peers, managing registrations, collecting donations, and presenting prizes on the day. The afternoon ran smoothly, filled with competitive matches, enthusiastic rallies, and plenty of enjoyment from players of all abilities.

“It’s inspiring to see a young person lead with such energy and purpose.”

Supporting Rackets Cubed

Ciara chose Rackets Cubed as the beneficiary for her project, directing donations toward our work in disadvantaged schools — including after-school sports, STEM and nutrition programmes, and our Social Supermarket hubs. Her efforts raised both funds and awareness, bringing Rackets Cubed’s mission to an audience of fellow students who may never have encountered it before.

Our thanks to Ciara

We are incredibly grateful to Ciara for choosing Rackets Cubed, for the professionalism she brought to every stage of the project, and for her thoughtful communication and coordination throughout. Initiatives like hers help us keep delivering programmes that make a real difference to children and families across our communities.

If you are a student, teacher, or school interested in running a similar fundraising event in support of Rackets Cubed, we would love to hear from you.
